Emergency Supply Kits: In a disaster, one must be prepared to survive for several days until help arrives.  There are many companies that you can purchase emergency supply kits that include all different types of supplies or you can create one on your own.   Just make sure you include items for your pets, like their food, water, medicine.   Be sure to rotate any perishables so they are not expired when they are needed.  Additional items to consider: flashlights, batteries, radio, first aid kit, water, blanket, food, pet food, can opener, cat/dog carriers, bowls, leash, collar, toys.

CPR: Learning CPR for both humans and animals can be key in saving lives if a disaster occurs.  There are classes one can learn how to conduct CPR on humans by the American Red Cross, simply visit www.redcross.org to find a location near you.    Did you know that there are pet CPR classes too?  Joffe Emergency Services offers pet CPR classes.
